What to include

Connecting the app to a server

The app needs a Berth server: it plays the books from your own library and comes with no books of its own. In the server's web admin open Users, press “Connect a phone” next to a user and scan the QR code with the app. Without a camera, tap “Enter code manually” and type the server address and the 8-character code. If the admin gave you a login and password (web admin: Users → Access), tap “Sign in with a login and password” instead.

If the app cannot reach the server, the connection check shows which step failed — address, secure connection, server or code — and what to do next. Away from home, the app switches to the server's internet address if the owner has set one.

Content

We do not host, sell or distribute books. Each library belongs to the owner of its server. If you think content on a server infringes your rights, contact the owner of that server; we have no access to it. If something is wrong with the app itself, write to us.

Bug reports and the server

The Berth server is open source: issues and questions about installing it are welcome at https://github.com/joveptesg/berth/issues.
